Tetebatu Rice Terrace Panoramic Walk

  • Handicraft Village
  • Tetebatu Village
  • Rice Terraces
  • Jeruk Manis Waterfall
  • Jungle Coffee and Spice Plantation
  • Monkey Forest

Stroll through rice fields, clamber up the rice terrace ledges, reaching the top to be rewarded by magnificent panoramic views, follow paths through the monkey inhabited jungle to reach a hidden waterfall, then continue to find a very small traditional coffee shop that also offers many locally produced spices – nutmeg, star anise, vanilla, coffee beans & cacao.

  • Pick up from your hotel, and begin the car journey to Tetebatu seeing lots of views on the way, stopping at a local handicraft village with lots of bamboo products
  • When you arrive, you will meet with your guide at a local homestay & cafe and stop for a quick coffee, and lunch if you’re hungry
  • During the first part of the trip you will walk through jungle, following a stream to a clearing where you will find the bottom of the rice terraces
  • Your guide will help you to climb up and down the terraces. The route through the fields and the terrain is dependent on the seasons. Once you reach the top of the terraces you can marvel at the panoramic views and watch as the farmers work the land, typically with very few other tourists in sight
  • Your guide will take you up to a view point amongst some large rocks and a small waterfall, from here you can see more views
  • You will then walk through jungle to reach the Jeruk Manis (sweet orange) waterfall, down steps and then through a knee-high river
  • When you reach the waterfall you can stop, swim, take photos and rest at the side. The water is cold but will be refreshing after your walk. There is also a beruguk (gazebo seating area) at the entrance for you to rest at if you need to
  • Next you will continue on through small village, following the local roads and pathways to visit a local coffee and spice plantation hidden within the jungle
  • You will stop for coffee or tea and a look at some locally grown & seasonal coffee and spices – Nutmeg, Cloves, White Pepper, Black Pepper, Cinnamon & Vanilla – to list a few
  • You will also have a chance to buy this local produce here, the perfect souvenir – just imagine baking a cake back in your own country and using cinnamon or nutmeg that you have hand selected from a jungle in Lombok
  • Next, you’ll visit a monkey forest and then go for a late lunch
  • Either return to your hotel or stay one night in Tetebatu – ask us for hotel recommendations and bookings
